On October 17, the 2nd edition of the Seville SME of the Year Award 2018 was held, organized by the provincial Chamber of Commerce, Banco Santander, and with the special collaboration of ABC de Sevilla. The event recognized the work carried out by small and medium-sized enterprises based in the Andalusian capital.

At Rodamientos y Servicios, ROYSE, we have had the honor of receiving the Internationalization Runner-up Award in recognition of our trajectory beyond our country’s borders.

The ceremony for the Seville SME of the Year Award 2018 took place at the headquarters of the Seville Chamber of Commerce. Representing ROYSE was our manager, Juan Manuel Ortega Pareja, who was responsible for collecting the Runner-up Award.

Furthermore, the event was attended by the contest finalists, as well as prominent figures from the Andalusian community, such as the Deputy Territorial Director for Andalusia of Banco Santander, Juan Torres; the Managing Director of ABC de Sevilla, Álvaro Rodríguez Guitart; and the General Director of Planning and Programs of the Seville City Council, Isabel Cuadrado Estepa.

The latter dedicated a few words to all participants for the work carried out throughout the year. “This is a recognition that all of you companies deserve, as this is an act of visualizing the work you perform,” she stated.

What does the Seville SME of the Year Award consist of?

The Seville SME of the Year Award 2018 was established as a competition to reward Sevillian companies for their efforts in job creation and the economic well-being of the city, in addition to providing greater visibility to their work.

In this edition, all those interested in applying for the award had to meet a series of requirements. These included not exceeding 250 employees, not surpassing 500 million euros in annual turnover during the 2017 financial year, and having their main headquarters in the province of Seville.

Thus, once the application period ended, a total of 36 companies were selected to move on to the next phase, in which the jury assessed various merits to choose the winners. The training provided to employees, the use of high technology, international activity, and finally, the capacity to create employment were some of the criteria used to select the award winners.

In addition to our award, the SME Award was given to Juvasa, a packaging design and distribution company, while Montrel received the Training Runner-up Award and Qositconsulting received the Digitalization Runner-up Award.
