Key points when choosing your workwear supplier

Workwear Supplier.
At ROYSE, Bearings and Services, we are always committed to providing sound advice to our clients and also to those who are not yet clients. This is our way of continuously improving a quality service where the safety and satisfaction of those who trust us is our highest priority.

When we talk about workwear, this has an even greater impact. The safety of employees is at stake, as well as their comfort; a very important aspect for carrying out the workday comfortably and effectively.

In this regard, the ROYSE catalog offers a wide variety of options, and as a workwear supplier, we have products from different brands, always of the highest quality.

You’ll find what you’re looking for, and if we don’t have it, we’ll get it for you!

While we cover different work areas and always take advantage of the wide range of manufacturers available in the market, at ROYSE we are aware of the different needs of each client. This is why we offer you the opportunity to choose from a multitude of options within the main reference brands.

The comfort of your workday largely depends on your workwear supplier

For all these reasons, we want to help you choose the type of workwear that meets all your requirements. We have been workwear suppliers for a long time, allowing us to share our experience and advice, as we also benefit from the manufacturer’s technical advice, adding value to the management process.

There are 3 key points to define workwear as a quality product:

– Adaptation to the sector: The workwear of each company must, of course, identify with the brand’s values. However, within each business sector, there are a series of guidelines that define the specific industrial activity. For example, footwear or gloves for employees in a factory that produces inductive materials. These will have to follow the same standards as those used by workers welding casings for energy products, for instance. In this sense, it is advisable to look at the competition and try to match the average in safety innovation that emerges.

Adaptation to thermal conditions: ROYSE, as a safety workwear supplier, takes into account that the entire range offered to clients must be characterized by adapting to seasonal changes. In winter, the fabric should have a grammage that makes the low temperatures typical of the season more bearable. And in summer, clothing for this type of work cannot be light and short, considering the heat, but it could have a slightly lighter grammage. The geographical area where we are located must also be considered: the temperatures and environmental conditions of a company located in Córdoba or Seville are not the same as those endured, for example, in Álava.

A good way to distinguish quality is to check how both needs—temperature comfort and body protection—are met. Everything depends on the characteristics of each job.

– Adaptation to daily work: It is during the workday itself that we must verify the quality of the workwear. The particular characteristics of each job detail the needs for work clothing, and by observing its adaptation, we will discover the needs we must cover for our workwear to be of quality.

Applicable Regulations

Like other PPE, it is classified into 3 categories according to need.

Category 1

Workwear that, due to its simple design, the user can judge for themselves its effectiveness against minimal risks, and whose effects, when gradual, can be perceived in time and without danger to the user, such as superficial mechanical aggressions or atmospheric agents that are not exceptional or extreme.

This workwear must comply with EN340, a harmonized standard that regulates the minimum requirements for Workwear, dimensional change after washing, size designation, labeling, physiological properties, color fastness, etc. In addition, there are other standards that regulate the requirements for garments intended to protect against certain risks that can be considered minimal:

EN14058: Protective clothing against cold environments (between -5°C and 10°C).

EN343: Protective clothing against rain.

The marking that these Category 1 garments must bear is:

  • manufacturer or authorized representative identification.
  • model or reference.
  • size.
  • CE marking.
  • maintenance instructions.
  • composition.

Category 2

Workwear intended to protect against intermediate or all types of risks that could not cause very serious injuries or death.

These garments must comply, in addition to EN340, with the harmonized standard that regulates the risk against which they are recommended, for example:

EN342: Protective clothing against cold intended to protect against ambient temperatures between -5°C and -50°C.

EN11611: Protective clothing used during welding and related processes.

EN11612: Protective clothing for workers exposed to heat (ambient temperature below 100°C).

EN471: High Visibility Protective Clothing.

EN1149: Antistatic Protective Clothing.

The marking that these garments must bear is the same as for Category 1, adding the pictogram indicating the risk and its resistance levels.

Category 3

Clothing intended to protect the user from a mortal danger or one that could seriously and irreversibly damage health without its immediate effect being discovered in time.

This clothing must comply, in addition to EN340, with the harmonized standard that regulates the risk against which the clothing is recommended:

EN13034: Limited protective clothing against liquid chemicals (Type 6).

EN13982-1: Chemical protective clothing against suspended solid particles (Type 5)

EN14605: Protective clothing with spray-tight seams (Type 4)

EN14605: Protective clothing against liquid chemicals (Type 3)

EN1073-2: Non-ventilated protective clothing against radioactive particle contamination

EN14126: Protective clothing against biological agents

EN14116: Protective clothing against heat and flame (limited flame spread)

The marking that these garments must bear is the same as for Category 2, but adding to the CE marking the identification number of the notified control body responsible for CE quality control during the production phase.

They must be certified by a notified body, and the manufacturer must adopt one of the CE quality assurance systems regulated for their commercialization according to R.D. 1407/1992.

At ROYSE, we hope that with these three key aspects, together with the applicable regulations in each case, you can choose the most suitable product for your workers. Do not hesitate to visit our catalog to find the workwear you need for your business or call us. We offer 24-hour service.
