Roller chains
A roller chain is a power transmission element. It is a specific variant of a general transmission chain.
A typical roller chain consists of two types of links: inner links and outer links. Each link consists of two plates (flat pieces shaped like an 8 with two holes). The inner links are formed with two inner plates or inner flanges pressed onto two bushings, on which the chain's rollers rotate freely.
The outer links are formed with outer plates or flanges attached to two shafts that are laterally riveted once incorporated into the inner links.
The final set of these parts, which we call roller chain, allows smooth coupling to a toothed sprocket, performing a transmission function between shafts that may be very far apart, this being one of the main advantages of this type of chain.
Flat top chains
Flat top chains offer significant advantages in transporting various materials, thanks to their excellent flat surfaces resistant to wear, generating little noise during operation.
This type of chain is used in the food industry: bottles, cans, etc.
They are ideal for the beverage, glass, food, pharmaceutical and paint industries. Typical applications include the transport of bottles, cans, or small cardboard boxes in the feeding and interconnection area.
Hinged chains are perfect for complex three-dimensional routing without split points and transitions with a conveyor. Due to the positive drive, it does not slip and is therefore suitable for humid environments.
