At Royse, we are proud to be part of the overhaul of the Puente de las Delicias, one of the main access points to the city of Seville. Our participation is based on technical consultancy, along with the supply of the bearings and supports that this major project requires.
Currently, the project is in its initial phase. Even so, the scheduled execution period for the work runs from July 13 to September 2.
The project consists of the replacement of the 16 bearings that make up the bridge—fundamental components to ensure its correct operation, as it is a movable bridge under which a large number of vessels pass on their way to the port of Seville.

The overhaul of the Puente de las Delicias, a project to improve traffic in Seville
The Puente de las Delicias was designed by architects Leonardo Fernández Troyano and Javier Manterola Armisen with the aim of ensuring that traffic in the city of Seville remained fluid and was not adversely affected due to EXPO ’92.
However, many years have passed since its construction, leading to a situation where breakdowns began to occur frequently. To address this reality, the Port Authority has decided to invest a total of 2.4 million euros in modernizing the hydraulic and electrical systems, which will improve the bridge’s mechanisms and control.
To achieve this, it has been necessary to close the area to traffic during this time. The chosen dates sought to reduce inconvenience as much as possible, which is why the work began in the summer. The summer season is characterized by a lower volume of vehicles.
The overhaul of the Puente de las Delicias is essential to guarantee proper traffic flow in the Andalusian capital, as it is an indispensable structure for facilitating connections for vehicles, cruise ships, and freight trains alike.
